VLB spring conference at IREKS
The 109th Brewing and Machinery Technology Conference of the “Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin e.V.” (Research and Teaching Institute for Brewing in Berlin, VLB) took place from 25 - 27 March 2025 in the Dr.-Stammberger-Halle in Kulmbach, with IREKS as one of the main sponsors and hosts.
The conference was aimed at the technical management of breweries, malthouses, the beverage industry and their suppliers. In addition to specialist presentations on current topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in the beverage industry or energy efficiency in breweries and an accompanying trade exhibition, numerous participants were also guests at IREKS. They were given a detailed tour of our malthouse and brewhouse as well as the baking ingredients production and the IREKS Technical Centre, which was met with particularly great enthusiasm. So was the charming speech by our Managing Partner Hans Albert Ruckdeschel, who opened the get-together in the evening and, together with his wife Margit and the IREKS Managing Directors Stephan Bergler and Stefan Soiné, was looking forward to the exchange with the guests.
The verdict on the visit to IREKS and the event as a whole was consistently positive. The main focus was on the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with various industry representatives.
The registered association ”Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin e.V.” (Research and Teaching Institute for Brewing in Berlin, VLB) was founded in 1883 by the brewing and malting industry in Berlin. It serves to promote science and vocational training in the fields of brewing, the beverage industry and biotechnology.
