Annual general assembly of beer sommeliers
Upper Franconia as meeting point of European beer culture: From 17 to 20 October 2024, the annual general assembly of the professional association of certified beer sommeliers took place in Bayreuth. Of course, a visit to IREKS was a must!
About 200 beer lovers came together at Maisel & Friends brewery to exchange ideas, talk shop and expand their knowledge during various presentations and panel discussions. In addition to numerous other highlights, they had the opportunity to take part in a company tour at IREKS as part of the afternoon programme.
Kay-Tassilo Pauli, Sales / Distribution Malt at IREKS GmbH, beer sommelier & association member Matthias Hansen, Head of Company Laboratory Malt, and Benjamin Söhnlein, Head of Malthouse at IREKS GmbH, welcomed 45 association members to the IREKS headquarters in Kulmbach.
After a brief welcome, the beer sommeliers were given an exclusive company tour through the IREKS malthouses and the malt laboratory, focussing on the journey from grain to malt. Moreover, the guests were given insights into our baking ingredients production, where high-quality baking ingredients for bread, rolls and confectionery baked goods are produced – from improvers and mixes to malts and sourdoughs.
