IREKS at the European Beer Star 2025
The European Beer Star competition has been one of the most important awards in the international brewing industry for eleven years. This year, an expert from IREKS once again contributed his expertise to the jury.
On 7 and 8 of August, the tasting of around 2,200 beers from more than 500 international breweries took place in Nuremberg, with German beers accounting for a third of the total. For the tasting, 150 experts from over 30 nations travelled to the event to evaluate a wide variety of beers (including mixed beer drinks for the first time) in 72 categories.
Kay-Tassilo Pauli, Sales / Distribution Malt at IREKS GmbH, was appointed to the jury for the fifth time: “Every year, the European Beer Star offers an excellent opportunity to meet and network with brewmasters and experts from all over the world. The tastings and joint evening events enable intensive networking. I'm really looking forward to the award ceremony!”
The renowned competition is regarded as the “Oscars of the brewing industry” and symbolises the diversity of beer worldwide: Pale Ale, Pilsner, wheat beer, IPA, strong and bock beers or even beers made from alternative cereals were submitted.
The grand award ceremony will take place at drinktec 2025 on 17 September in Munich. We are excited to see who will win gold, silver and bronze!
