Cookies

a) What exactly are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information which are stored on your computer, tablet or mobile phone when Internet pages are visited and which, in general, are used for a more effective design of Internet pages. Some cookies (Session Cookies) are deleted automatically when the browser is closed, others (Persistent Cookies or Tracking Codes) are archived on the corresponding hardware until a certain expiration date or until the temporary memory of your browser has been emptied and enable us to be able to identify you as a repeated visitor to our Internet pages. The majority of Internet browsers accept cookies automatically. However, with simple clicking, you can change the settings of your browser if you do not wish this. More detailed information on cookies can be found at aboutcookies  .

You can adjust the cookie settings on our website here:

b) Why are cookies used by us?

We use cookies to:

  • guarantee a secure Internet environment
  • check our website performance and improve the user-friendliness as well as the online experience for our customers

We do not use cookies to track your Internet activities outside the Internet pages maintained by us.

The types of cookies named following are used by us to be better able to judge the way our online services are used by our customers and to configure our services in a better way. As a result, we can recognize, for example, when a process is too complex and the users discontinue the process for this reason. With this knowledge, the process steps can be simplified and configured in a more customer-orientated manner.

c) Which types of cookie exist?

Type of cookieIntended purpose

Tracking CookiesDo not contain any personal data. Capture from where the page view has taken place, which search engine has been used, which link has been clicked and which key word has been selected and pinpoints the location of the user at the time of the page view. In this case however, your individual data and contents, including your cookie settings, will be lost and you will not be recognized as a returning visitor when you next view our Internet pages. Please observe here, however, that, for an unhindered navigation on our Internet pages, several ‟basicˮ cookies are indispensable. In addition, these cookies are only used by us to check the efficiency of the Internet pages and to capture the visitor frequency.

f) Preventing cookies

You may prevent the installation of cookies by appropriately adjusting your browser software, too; however please note that in this case you may not be able to use the full functionality of our websites.

Integration of services and contents of third parties

It may be that, within this online service, contents of third parties, such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics, for example, are integrated from other Internet pages.

This always assumes that the providers of these contents (in the following called ‟third party providersˮ) detect the IP address of the users. For, without the IP address, the third party providers could not send the contents to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore necessary for the presentation of these contents.

YouTube

We have integrated YouTube videos into our online offer, which are stored on https://www.youtube.com   and can be played directly from our website. These are all integrated using the two-click solution and in "extended data protection mode", i.e. no data about you as a user is transmitted to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only if you play the videos will the data mentioned in paragraph 2 be transmitted. We have no influence on this data transmission.

By visiting the website, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding sub-page of our website. In addition, the data listed in the passage "Description of data processing on the website/app and legal basis for processing" is transmitted. This takes place regardless of whether YouTube provides a user account via which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account. If you do not want your data to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or designing its website in line with requirements. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have a right to object to the creation of these user profiles, and you must contact YouTube to exercise this.

For more information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube, please see the data protection policy. There you will also find further information on your rights and setting options to protect your privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy  .

You can decide whether you want to allow YouTube videos to be displayed. Please note that after activating the content, personal data may be collected by the external platform. You can change your consent to the use of this function at any time in the corresponding cookie category under "Settings":

Analysis software Matomo

Cookies will be used for this purpose. The pseudonymised usage profiles are not combined with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym without your express consent, which must be given separately. The data processing by Matomo takes place on our servers in Germany.

You can decide whether web analysis cookies may be stored in your browser to enable the website operator to collect and analyse various statistical data. You can change your consent to the use of this cookie at any time in the relevant cookie category under "Settings":
