As a partner for aroma and taste, we produce a wide range of base and speciality malts from which large breweries and craft brewers brew unique beers. Bakeries and confectionery bakeries around the globe rely on our baking ingredients for bread and rolls as well as confectionery baked goods – from improvers and mixes to malts and sourdoughs.
The product range of our Company Group is completed by divisions for flavourings and ice cream products.

Since the beginning, malts for brewing have been part of the core business of the IREKS Group. Master baker and brewer Johann Peter Ruckdeschel opened his own commercial malthouse in Kulmbach as early as 1856, thus laying the foundation stone for our Company Group. Today, our product range includes a wide variety of base and speciality malts. In addition to our wealth of experience, we only use the best grain, which is processed with state-of-the-art technology and closely monitored. Large breweries and craft brewers worldwide appreciate the variety of aroma and taste that they can create in their beers with IREKS malts.
With regard to our basic raw materials, the entire value-added chain is to a large extent in our hands – from the field via storage and transport to preparation and finally further processing into baking ingredients and malts. Our own agricultural trade serves as the starting point. We have been in close contact with the agricultural sector since 1885, which has a decisive effect: We can influence the properties and quality of the raw materials and the resulting products right from the selection of the seeds.

With our range of mixes, improvers, malt and sourdough products, we offer product solutions that are precisely adapted to the requirements of bakeries and their customers. Extensive services complement the range. Our customers in over 90 countries particularly appreciate the individual support provided by our Field Staff service team of more than 500 bakery specialists, who are available to them as personal contacts in their baking businesses on site.
Since 2004, the traditional company DREIDOPPEL from Langenfeld has been part of the IREKS company family, expanding our expertise in the confectionery baked goods sector to include flavourings, confectionery pastes, whipped cream stabilisers, gelling agents, fruit fillings as well as cold and fat creams. Ice cream products of the GELATOP brand complete the range. Our subsidiary LUMEN also provides ice-cold refreshments! As a pioneer in the ice cream industry, it has been offering soft ice cream machines with ice cream mixes and comprehensive service since 1962.
